I think today, this Halloween, is the time we stop considering that we can only be bold and uninhibited with our looks and life on one day of the year. 🦋

Halloween is said to mark the end of summer and beginning of winter. Many think it’s a time to remember the dead and most of us enjoy the fun festivities and candy. 🎃🍫

How willing would you be to do whatever it takes to change your life? How far would you go to transform a life that had become dull and depressive from all work and no play, to exciting and unpredictable? What would you risk to step off the trail to search for a narrower path with an unproven promise of grander views and fresh opportunities? Instead of endless hours of high volume work there is rest including required trips of leisurely travel and dates set for goals to be achieved? You must take care not to lose your sense of direction as you navigate to locate the new path as dangerous crevasses pepper the landscape; if you can find your new way you also rediscover the parts of you lost to excessive immersion in work, which mires the personality and zest of freedom. Do you step into the thick of the woods trusting your instincts to get you to where you want to go or stay straight on the trail that has become the path for so many?
It’s kind of a deep scenario to consider. I don’t mind if you’d rather just consider daydreaming about sharing an airbnb with me on one of those trips I mentioned. 🤭 I can make room for you on the couch and maybe other places too …💭😉😍

Work places give employees reassurance by earning awards or rankings, riders give their horse reassurance through steady hands and calm voices, belayers reassure their climbers that they are attentive and ready to catch through a crux, and fans support their favorite OF models through likes, kind comments, and support of their content.

🏔️ Denali National Park spans over 6 million acres and is home to 39 species of mammals, 169 species of birds, and 1 lone species of amphibian.
🏔️A clear view of the summit only occurs about 20% of the time.
Sometimes it sounds more simple than it is, but all you have to do to see something beautiful is to look at it.

On the night of the super moon I stopped at a viewpoint of Denali in Big Lake, Alaska right after sunset. I have been lucky enough to see Denali clearly on other occasions, but never when I was this close. Knowing the sky was clear I decided to camp out in hopes of seeing the C/2023 A3 comet within view of this majestic mountain range. Not only did it become visible to my left, but the super moon to my right illuminated Denali in the distance, even as night made an effort to wash the range in darkness. As my eyes scanned the sky I couldn’t contain a gasp as my focus was drawn to the Big Dipper. Each of the constellations 7 twinkling stars glowed, resembling a larger than life Alaskan flag, waving over my head. I have loved Alaska since my first visit a few years ago. In that moment I felt like Alaska was loving me back. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful things in my life, but that night sky was one that I’m sure I’ll be talking about for years to come.
I suppose we could go inside to warm up if we get too cold … 💖
The white blanket on my bed is considerably warmer than the 6-10” blanket of snow developing outside. ❄️🤭

Clouds moved in yesterday evening and kept me from getting to see the aurora despite a phenomenal forecast. At least the clouds did deliver some snow for me. ❄️✨❄️✨
It’s currently 15 degrees, but feels like 5*F 🥶
