Rule #1 when at the hardware store, never ask for help! You stand in the isle for 30 mins and pretend you know what you are looking for🤣Jkjk! This week we will go over some common adhesives, what they are used for and why I have them in the shop!

Router bits are designed to serve three primary functions: To create wood joints, to plunge into the center of a piece for grooves or inlays, and to shape the edges of wood.

Sawdust is a nuisance in the shop and can be quite messy!! One thing I love about the routing table is the ability to connect your shop vac to the back to collect any excess dust!

What are routers used for? Wood routers are a great tool for making cutouts, duplicates from a pattern, sharp edges, cut joints, decorative surface cuts and more! I recently used this to put a mirror inside a custom frame I made:)

If you want the both of best worlds, you can get standard wrenches with a ratchet function! Why would you? Because you can, that’s why🤣🤣

Standard wrenches are sold in sixteenth-inch increments up to one and a half inches (and in metric sizes, too, of course). The length of the tool varies in proportion to its size, ranging from about four inches to almost two feet.

A socket wrench makes turning nuts and bolts easier than a conventional wrench. The ratcheting function keeps the wrench attached to the bolt and removes the need to reinstall it after each bolt turn.

Anyone know where my 10mm socket it??? IYKYK🤣
(The 10mm socket is so small, if you don't remember where you place it, it’s the socket you'll most likely lose, hence all the memes😋)

Whats the difference between a jigsaw and a reciprocating saw? Mainly the angle of the blade!! A jigsaw has a blade that operates vertically while a reciprocating saw has a blade that operates horizontally! Both the jigsaw & reciprocating saw are staple power tools to have for DIYers and professionals!

A circular saw is used for cutting many materials such as wood, masonry, plastic, or metal and may be hand-held or mounted to a machine. In woodworking the term "circular saw" refers specifically to a hand-held saw!

Generally speaking there are four major categories of circular saw blades. They are: Rip Blades, Crosscut, Combination and Specialty blades. Ripping saw blades are designed primarily to achieve a smooth, clean and safe cut when ripping wood or cutting in the same direction as the wood grain.

Which 2 screwdriver bits do I need to use here?
2022-05-06 18:01:08 +0000 UTC

Think smarter not harder! Instead of having 20 scattered screwdrivers you can get a interchangeable screw head and driver set! This way you only need one screwdriver and a set of heads that will match any DIY or Home Improvement project! They also work great with a power drill!

Every lose a screwdriver you really needed? Yea me neither because I have 7,000 of them😅🤣 In reality I have a screwdriver for almost any need but the 3 most common types are the Phillips Head, Flat Head, and the Torx (star shaped). If you have those 3 you should be able to handle most jobs just fine☺️

Once upon a time this was my job! I was a professional show skier and held many titles and national records. I invented a handful of tricks, and spent my days on the water.

The ski is back up on the wall! It was a special project for me in many ways. I invented tricks, traveled the world, made memories, and grew up with this ski! I wanted to make sure it got the treatment it deserved and can proudly be displayed as an important piece in my life!! How does it look?

Most of the dust from saws, planers, drills, and even routers consists of much larger particles. Sanding is probably the worst culprit for producing very fine dust, so wearing a mask while sanding with power sanders is more important than most other times. Trust me, I'm suffering from day 1 of not wearing one. *cough cough"

Final touches on the ski! Here I am using a marine coating to seal my ski! This will prevent water from damaging the wood and causing it to weaken! It’s important to protect wood that is exposed to the elements and a waterproof sealant is the perfect way to do that!

In order to get my old swivel ski ready for a refinish I had to sand off the old waterproof protective coating (and all my stickers). This took me most of the day because I didn't have the correct grit sandpaper. The grit is a rating of the size of abrasive materials on the sandpaper. The higher grit number is equivalent to a finer abrasive, which creates smoother surface finishes. Lower grit numbers represent coarser abrasives that scrape off materials much quicker..

This week I'll be refinishing my swivel ski! I have been water-skiing most of my life and have done it professionally for over 10 years in 3 different countries! Although I don't do it as much as I used to, it's still a major part of my life so this project is near and dear to my heart. I'll be removing the protective sealant, sanding it down, and reapplying a marine protective coating! Might even take it for a ski sometime soon😉

The final step in the drywall repair project is to tape and conceal the patch with a drywall joint compound to make it look like it was never there! Drywall tape is designed to be very durable, resistant to tearing and water damage, and has a slightly rough surface to provide maximum adhesion to drywall compound. Check out the final steps before I sand and paint. Now we can just act like I didn't do that and move on to next weeks adventures!
