My cow, Ginger is one of the dearest cows to my heart. ♥️ She’s about six years old now, and I got her when she was six months old. She was much spunkier back then, and her curiosity towards breaking out and exploring was much greater. Here she’s taking her mid-afternoon nap and is quite content. But I remember the days of running barefoot through lychee orchards she broke into.. trying to trick her and corral her back while she evades my moves and bucks around like a crazy rodeo horse. Meanwhile my neighbors are calling me telling me there’s cows in their road, and there’s more breaking out because she downed the fence. 😆🐎 She’s mostly retired from her tom-foolery now.

It’s been very busy over here. Getting the pad for my tiny home excavated, and my car broke down this past week too. It feels so good to stop and soak up some sun and fresh air. 🌞

Today I finally got my tiny home trailered to my new property! I still need to get it towed down to its final spot by the ocean cliff. 🌊 I can’t wait to wake up and feel the ocean breeze blowing through my window.
Stay tuned for updates as I renovate it and show you all the off-grid amenities! 🛠️

In my element 🥛 Milking in the morning is such a grounding activity for me. I get to wake up before the sunrise and watch the earth come alive. Connecting with my cow, who doesn’t need ropes or stanchions locking her in place. Just the pure trust between us and the promise that I’ll bring her treats.

This is my youngest calf right now. Isn’t she just the prettiest? She’s mostly a Jersey breed. I love when they have the white spot on their forehead. 🥺💗

I went to a coffee tasting the other day. ☕️
They had coffees from all regions of the island. It was so interesting to learn how coffees from different soil qualities produce entirely different flavors. The trees and spices which are grown in conjunction to the coffee plants will come out in the flavor of the coffee. My favorite coffee was a bean called “Peaberry”, which refers to the pea shape of the bean, as it’s technically a deformed bean, having both lobes moulded together. It naturally happens and makes a percentage of each harvest. Historically, these beans are often discarded. But because of their small size they’re sweeter and have a lighter and more smooth taste. It makes a very mild and delicious coffee in my opinion.

Ti leaves are known in Hawaii to be protective from bad energies. 🧿 You’ll often see them around the borders or entrance of a property, or planted in a circle around something meaningful.

So.. I’m working on a new project. I just bought a tiny home! It’s gorgeous and will be fully off grid with a water catchment tank and solar system. I’m currently getting this road cleared leading to the spot it’s going, right next to the ocean on a cliff, deep in the jungle🌿 This is an old cane road, used by machines to carry sugarcane in and out of the old plantations. I’ll be giving a tour on OFTV once it’s all set up! 🌞

This is my oldest cow, Blumie. She’s 24 years old. I got her some years ago from a family who had her as a milk cow for a long time. She’s a Brahma and Tarentaise mix, and she’s very gentle and intelligent and loves getting pets. I’m having her graze around the house right now because I’m too lazy to mow it. 😂
